As a writer, my role is always to deep dive into subject matter, brand voice, data, and current trends to get an understanding of a client’s main goals. In addition to my nearly 2-year contract stint as marketing copywriter at Vancouver-based Coast Capital Savings, I have a wide-ranging skillset and unique experiences in fast-paced environments like pop culture publication newsrooms and music-focused creative agencies, which ultimately brings with it fresh perspectives and plenty of flexibility.

Essentially, I learn quickly and have picked up tools and systems from a variety of industries. When applied to the world of finance, these resources help me craft innovative but concise marketing creative built on a foundation of storytelling.

My experience gives me particular insight when developing:

  • Content crafted using my interviewing and narrative-building skills as a journalist
  • Content aimed at Millennials and Gen Z, for whom a better grasp on spending, saving, and investing are crucial
  • Content aimed at freelancers and independent contactors, who tend to navigate complex financial and tax implications but have fewer relevant resources from major financial institutions. By 2030, they will make up a significant portion of the workforce in Canada and the U.S.
